“Purappadu” – A collection of short stories written by CU staff released : Proceeds from sales to go to CMDRF
“Purappadu” (Beginning of a journey), a collection of short stories written by M B Kunhikrishnan, Assistant Registrar of University of Calicut, was released today. Professor V Rajagopal, former Controller of Examinations, Calicut University released the book by giving a copy to S Padmaja, president of Calicut University Employees Union.
The function was held under the auspices of Rachana, Cultural and Literary Forum of University staff.
Kunhikrishnan announced that the whole proceeds he receives from the sale of the book would be donated to the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund.
Kunhikrishnan, who has started writing after 50 years of his age, has published one book each over the last three years, the fourth one being ” Purappadu”.
The short stories vividly depict the various nuances of lives, the trials and turbulence one come across in the life in an interesting manner in various stories. The present day life is also compared with the past in a subtle way.
Kunhikrishnan was also functioning as Enquiry Officer for several years prior to his current posting as Assistant Registrar in the BSc Wing of Examinations Branch.
He also authored the Hand Book on Examinations, in which all the rules and regulations, details of courses and examinations are described in a simple manner.
K Nusaiba bai presided over the function. V S Nikhil introduced the book. Vinod Neekamburath, T Sabeesh , C Jyothikumar, VP Ramakrishnan and S Padmaja offered felicitations.
