Kerala:coronavirus cases reach 84

 

 

 

 

84 people confirmed as COVID positive in the State today. This is the highest number of positives ever confirmed in Kerala.

Out of these 31 came from abroad and 48 from other states, and 5 people got the disease through contact. 3 people have recovered today.

There was a death today. The deceased was Anjayya (68), a resident of Telangana. He was to go to Telangana along with his family, but they boarded a wrong train from Rajasthan and reached Thiruvananthapuram on 22nd.

Kasaragod 18, Palakkad 16, Kannur 10, Malappuram 8, Thiruvananthapuram 7, Thrissur 7, Kozhikode 6, Pathanamthitta 6, Kottayam 3, Kollam, Idukki and Alappuzha one case each are today’s positive cases.

Today’s 31 cases came from Maharashtra, 9 came from Tamil Nadu , 3 frim Karnataka, 2 from Gujarat , 2 from Delhi, and one from Andhra Pradesh. 5 people got it through contact.

The negative results are one each from Malappuram, Kozhikode and Kannur.

So far 1088 people have been diagnosed with the disease in the state. Of those, 526 are currently undergoing treatment. There are 1,15,297 people currently under observation. 1,14,305 are held in homes or institutional quarantine. 992 are in hospitals. Only 210 people were admitted to the hospital today. So far, 60,685 samples have been sent for testing. 58,460 have been confirmed to be negative.

So far 9,937 samples of the priority category have been collected as part of Sentinel Surveillance, out of this 9,217 are negative. There are currently 82 hotspots in the state. 6 new hotspots today. The new hotspots are three panchayats in Kasaragod, two panchayats in Palakkad and Changanassery municipality of Kottayam.

The most number of cases were reported from Palakkad district with 105 people. 93 patients are being treated in Kannur and 63 in Kasargod. 52 in Malappuram.
