A collective effort to improve English at Gov.U.P.School, Kinalur

This is a success story of the government U.P.School at Kinalur ,Balussery in Kozhikode. Here, people’s collective turned to be a success alternative to improve English language among students.

Program for Acquiring Comprehensive English (PACE) is becoming a role model for the whole state.

It was the dream project of the Parent Teachers Association (PTA).

The project was mooted to enhance the learning skill and ability of children.

The innovative idea was shared among teachers,parents and local community.

A seminar was conducted  in this regard to get the support of educated class and experts in communication .

Children get regular two hours training during working days and special session on Saturdays.

Different games, plays, debates, discussions and conversations are included in the PACE module.

With the support of various English language camps and language learning style, basic English learning skill will be placed in students mind.

When the project’s three years past, it is proved that there is an amazing change in students.

Here, students from class four have acquired skill to interact in English at class room and campus, confidently.

English language experts, communication experts, retired English teachers, are the trainers.

The PTA generates the fund for conducting these workshops through some sponsors. The PTA will meet once in a month and  discuss the plans .

Purushan Katalundi M.L.A’s Rs 25 lakh fund and Panangad Panchayaths’ seven lakh rupees are great help to this school to make it as a centre of excellence .Students of this school are privileged to have their free break fast at this school.

Digital class room, science lab, library, kitchen, dining room are being constructed using these funds.
