Sree Dhanya is the first tribal woman in Kerala to pass out civil services. She is hailing from Pozhuthana Ambalakkolli in Wayanad district.She grabbed the IAS from her partially completed house,built by her parents who are daily wage workers.
She never had the basic amenities or proper house. She fought the misfortune and brought laurels to the family,community and the state.
She is a former student of Calicut University zoology department.Realizing the plight of Sree Dhany,NSS open unit of Calicut University inititated to build a home for Sree Dhanya. The unit teamed up with Nirmithy Kendra,Wayanad and finished the house construction within ten months.
Dr.K.Muhammed Basheer,and Dr.K.Mohanan (Then Vice Chancellor and Pro-Vice Chancellor ,respectively)had taken special interest to support the student and formed a committee to get things done.
