The budget airliner Air India Express will increase its frequency between Kerala and the Middle East to 119 flights per week from the present 96 a week with effect March 28, 2016.
Announcing its summer schedule the airliner said some new sectors are also being opened up for the benefit of Keralites working in Gulf countries.
Acknowledging Kozhikode as its largest revenue centre, AIE increases its focus in this market by enhancing offered capacity to an all time high of 11,718 seats per week from the present 8,184 seats.
The frequency between Kozhikode and Dubai is being doubled from daily to two flights per day, it said.
The passengers are offered a morning departure flight, in addition to the existing night departure flight to Dubai, it said adding AIE will also introduce daily two separate non-stop services between Kozhikode and Bahrain and Doha in the new schedule.
Ras Al Khaimah is being introduced as a new destination with a frequency of four flights per week from Kozhikode, it said.
This flight will be shared with Al Ain, thereby increasing the frequency of flights between the two destinations also to four flights per week from the current operation of one flight per week, it said.
On Mondy and Friday the flight will be routed as Kozhikode – Al Ain – Ras Al Khimah – Kozhikode and on Wednesday and Saturday, it will be operated as Kozhikode-Ras-Al Khaimah-Al Ain-Kozhikode.
Nonstop Kozhikode to Dammam service four times a week is also a highlight of the summer schedule, the air liner said adding the services to Kuwait from Kozhikode have also jumped from thrice a week to five flights per week.
