People’s representatives,political party leaders,top police officers participated in an all-party meet held in Vatakara, to curb violence in the wake of the murder of B.Shibin, a DYFI activist at Vellore, Tuneri on Thursday midnight.
The youth was hacked to death ,allegedly by IUML.
The meeting unanimously urged the authorities to arrest the culprits who involved into the murder of the 19 year old,.
CPI(M) observed a dawn to dusk hartal on Friday to protest the killing.Since the incident, many cases of torching houses and thefts have been reported in Vellore, Kotancheri and Kottembram.
Police have tightened security measures to avoid any untoward accidents.
Nadapuram and adjacent panchayaths are politically sensitive places and had witnessed many killings in the name of politics, earlier.
Most of the crimes happened as the result of silly issues of poster missing or political argument in open places. Also ,there are deliberate attempts to give communal colour to the happenings in these areas.So,police is in extra vigil to curb any kind of anti-social activities in the name of politics.
District collector C.A.Latha, Mullappally Ramachandran M.P, C.K Nanu M.L.A, E.K.Vijayan M.L.A were among who attended along with top police officers in the meet.
