Allot more loan for small scale entrepreneurs says DPP

Quarterly statistics of commercial banks on deposits and credits in  Kozhikode show Rs. 23128 crore as aggregate  deposit and  Rs.18489 crore as gross bank credit.

It was announced in a banking review meeting held at Cosmopolitan club in Kozhiokode.

Kozhikode District Panchayath President Kanathil Jameela urged banks to allot more loans for small and medium  scale entrepreneurs.

“It would help the  financial growth of the district”-she said.

She was  inaugurating a district level banking  committee review meeting .

District Collector N.Prasanth released the credit plan,defining the section wise priorities for allotting loan.

He appreciated banks in the district for  successfully utilizing 95% of available fund.

He suggested the banks to give priorities for toilet  construction and other infrastructure facilities as part of Corporate S0cial Responsibility (CSR)

In the year  2015-16,out of the total fund allocation is for Rs.7086 crore,the agriculture sector will get 3776 crore.

Non-agriculture sector will get Rs.1020 crore and other priority sectors 2228 as credit release.

Canara Bank DGM,K.Hariharan,Reserve Bank AGM V.Raveendran,Nabard DDM,K.P.Padmakumar,Lead Bank Manager K.Buvanadas spoke on the occasion.
