Have you heard of ‘Kilikkoodu’-not the home of birds;but the name given to Calicut an dish,a delicious one prepared with Kada (Quail) eggs and vermicelli and lot more ingredients and hangs as a birds nest.
Another item is American Pathiri ( a pan cake , snack item prepared of chicken,carrot,beet root,cabbage and slices of bread.
Chirattaputtu as in the name is made of using coconut shells.
Its ingredients are prawn with chilly and other flavors prepared as rice steam cakes are steamed.
There are different types of ‘adas’ (a delicacy steamed in banana leaves) at the fest such as ‘Katukka Ada’,Chemmeen Ada,Meen Ada’etc are some of the items among around ten varieties of adas. And many more mouth watering dishes are ready for the food fans in the city.
It is available on the spot and parcel.All food items are home made by women entrepreneurs.
On the spot kitchen is also ready at the exhibition hall to prepare some hot items.
The women’s wing of Kuttichira CIESCO is the organizer of the event.

P.N.M.Sainabi, a senior most entrepreneur in this traditional food business will be honored on Sunday at 9 am.
Malabar Chamber of Commerce president Mohanan inaugurated the food fest on Saturday. Corporation Councillor Anitha Rajan delivered the key note address.
