Arjun K Das memorial painting exhibition and contest at KLA art gallery

‘Niram Mangatha Ormachithrangal’, (Un-faded memory paintings) ,a painting exhibition and children’s painting contest will be conducted at the Kerala Lalita Kala Academy Art Gallery in Kozhikode from April 29 to May 3(April 29,30,May 2,3),said Arjun K Das foundation office bearers in a press meet on Tuesday.

The program is in memory of  Arjun Das,a  student of National Institute of Design (NID),Ahammedabad.

Film director Harikumar will inaugurate the exhibition on April 29 at 4 pm. A painting contest for high school students will take place on May 2 at 10 am.

Painting-sculpture workshop will begin at 1.30 pm. Artist Shaji Subramanyan will lead the camp.


Balan Master Padiyoor will preside over the function. A.Pradeep Kumar will participate in the program as the chief guest.

Music director and lyrricist Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri will inagure the  painting contest for children at 10 am.

Best painting will get gold medal as the prize.

The foundation is planning to orgfanize many such cultural activities in the memory of Arjun,who used to paint in different pattern and stroke.

“Arjun Das memory is cherished for ever by conducting such initiatives,said Arjun Das’ mother Karen Das.

Arjun Das used to paint by using a variety of strokes and patterns. His paintings are special and inspiring to many budding artists-she said.

This is the diversion of the sorrow of a mother.Through his paintings we experience his presence , every time.Art never dies just as his paintings and his memories-she added.

Arjun Das was promising talent in painting and design,said his friends and relatives.He drown in Teesta river in Gnagtok On June 20,2015.
