Asif Ansari has been appointed as the National President of the Muslim Youth League. Asif Ansari from Delhi has been appointed to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of current Muslim Youth League National President Sabir S. Ghaffar.
Ansari was the Vice President of the National Committee of the Muslim Youth League.
The main objective of the Indian Union Muslim League is to defeat the BJP in the West Bengal Assembly elections. The party will be active in West Bengal and Assam, where elections are being held along with Kerala and Tamil Nadu. But the Indian Union Muslim League cannot co-operate with the political equations that are being formed to widely divide the secular vote. The secular stance that the party has upheld for decades cannot be sacrificed.
The exact election strategy will be formulated in consultation with the party state unit in West Bengal. The National Committee of the Muslim Youth League has been directed to start the necessary preparations for this.
