BJP is near to absolute majority in Karnataka assembly elections.
Bharathiya Janatha Party (BJP) has won lead in 112 seats and celebrated its entry in the Southern state,Karnataka. The party crossed its magic number of 112 seats lead by around 10 45 ,today.
The counting of votes began at 8 am .
The counting of postal votes gave a hint of tough fight between the ruling Congress and the BJP. However,when the counting progressed ,BJP improved its lead and touched the point of stability.
The ruling party Indian National Congress secured 70 seats lead and Janatha Dal (S) won lead in 38 seats,so far.
Others won two seats.
It was a tough triangle contest in the Karanataka poll,where exit polls gave much hope for the Congress. Most of the surveys had predicted hung assembly.
The Saffron brigade,as BJP is widely known, has shown its strength in South India,too.
