Calicut Inter-zone begins on Mon
Calicut University inter-zone festival will begin on May 8 . All preparations have been made to make the event,a memorable one. Kozhikode city is hosting the festival after a gap of five years.
For the first time,Lakshadweep students are also participating in the event.
Off-stage events will begin at 9 am onward.
Malabar Christian College is the main venue of the event. IHRD College of Applied Sciences is another venue.
Over 3,000 students will participate in the event , titled,Halabol,after the play of Safdar Hashmi.
The festival venue has been named after Vaikom Muhammed Basheer, and the eight stages are named after prominent places in the city such as S.M. Street, Mananchira, Valiyangadi, Palayam, Kallai, Beypore, Kappad, and the beach. Of the five stages, three are at Malabar Christian College, while the remaining are at the College of Applied Sciences. A food counter has been set ready at the IHRD College.

Media Center of the festival has been opened. Calicut Press Club president Kamal Varadoor opened the media centre at Malabar Christian College.He also launched the festival website .
Media committee chairman Jijo George presided.
Program Committe convener A.K.Bijith, Media committee convener Vishnu Paleri,T.Athul,M.Ajayalal spoke.
