Calicut University : Syndicate Meeting Decisions

  • Grievance Cell will hold discussions with teachers and managements to resolve the salary issues of self-financing college teachers.
  • On the recommendation of the Principal, it was decided to increase the number of seats up to 55 for B.Sc, up to 70 for BA and B.Com, 20 for practical M.Sc. and 30 for non-practical M.Sc.

Other decisions:

  • The post of Assistant Librarian will be included in the ordinance. Eligible candidates as defined by UGC will be promoted to this post.
  • The Center for e-Learning will be set up to integrate the academic and student support services of students.
  • According to the Controller of Examinations, there will be an increased from `50 lakh to` 1 crore for expeditious payment of TA, DA etc. related to the evaluation of answer papers.
  • CDMRP will provide financial assistance to continue this year. Proposals will be made to obtain financial assistance from other agencies.
  • NCC-29 approves to start the Kerala Battalion in the office campus.
  • The University will implement the Unispark application for digitizing information related to staff payroll and human resources.
  • Dr. E. Sreekumaran has been appointed as the Director of MSc Forensic Science Program.
  • BSc and MSc Printing Technology courses will not be introduced in the self-financing sector at the University.
  • Dr. VV Haridas has been nominated as the Head of the Department of History of the University.
  • It was decided that further affiliation to self-financing programs in aided colleges should not be restricted by the Government’s NOC.
  • An amount of `1,98,82,700 has been sanctioned for installation of Hyper Converged Infrastructure Based Virtualization and Private Cloud System.
  • It was decided not to invite applications for new colleges and programs for the years 2021-22 and 2022-23.
  • The records of colleges operating without adequate land will be subjected to legal scrutiny.
