As part of the Covid 19 Reverse Quarantine operation, an old age call center has been set up in Kozhikode district to address the physical and mental problems of the elderly.
About 20 people in two shifts will be looking out for the health and well-being of the elderly here. The call center is staffed by officials from various departments, volunteers and technical assistants to the maintenance tribunal. The tele-medicine system and the services of Vayomitra will be made available to ensure the health care of the elderly through the call center.
Volunteers selected by the panchayaths in the district will be constantly calling for the welfare of the elderly and providing necessary assistance. According to the list compiled by the Anganwadi workers, the senior citizens of the district will be contacted and the details of those who need further action will be collected separately and necessary remedial action will be taken.
