Kozhikode District Collector Samba Siva Rao informed that, in the wake of quick spread of Corona virus in the district, the public is required to be highly cautious.
As it is being noticed that the Covid protocols and regulations are being violated by more and more people, it has been notified to increase the actions taken against these violators.
The carelessness on behalf of the people is causing the rapid spread
of the disease,raising concern of community spread.
It has been decided to keep strict observation upon the quarantined people, social distancing, usage of masks and such Covid protocols by the police.
Violation of any of these will be strictly prohibited and that way the spread has to be controlled. There will be police petroling in each possible house of quarantined people to make sure they don’t go out.
As a part if this, a neighbour of the quarantined person will be contacted by the Janamaithri Police and the information of the person will be recorded as database. This will be lead by the Janamaithri Police, under information of the Covid 19 Prevention Portal. The problems faced by the RRT of the private organisations will be checked by the police. Also the report of the functioning of RRT will be submitted to the Collector’s special branch.
To maintain the strict night curfew from 10pm to 5am, a special police squad will be assigned. The police squads are also assigned to make sure the social distancing and the usage of masks in public places, working areas, shopping centres, malls etc. When these regulations are found to be violated, the Tahasildar has to be informed and according to the Tahasildar’s directions, the related private institutions’ license can also be cancelled.
Since the opening of devotional places are allowed, the authorities are to check the social distancing, mask usage and other protocols being followed. They also have to keep a register of the devotees who arrive and check whether a quarantined person or a person living with them visits the place.
No political, religious, or social gathering, meeting or protests are allowed in the district.
