The benevolent gesture of the Sreenarayanaguru Open University Vice Chancellor, Dr. Mubarak Pasha and Prof. Rajeevan would go a long way in providing succor to the needy and poor people in the state in the narrowing times of the pandemic.
Dr. Rajeevan, who retired from Zamorins Guruvayoorappan last year, had also donated his entire last salary on retirement to the CM’s Relief Fund, as part of the “salary challenge” then to help the Covid preventive measures initiated by the Government
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan acknowledged the receipt of the donation from Dr. Mubarak Pasha and Dr. Rajeev, while addressing a press meet on Friday.
The CMDRF became a major platform of public expression of solidarity during the floods of 2018 and 2019.
After the outbreak of the pandemic too, contributions poured in a big way..
Several enthusiastic Keralites have now gone a step further, voluntarily donating the price of the vaccine to the CM’s Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF), a day after Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan announced free vaccines for everyone in the State.
