Covid-19 – Nine people confirmed positive today

A total of nine Covid cases are reported in Kozhikode district today (29.06.2020) said District Medical Officer Dr Jayashree V. Eight people recovered.
1. The 39-year-old man from Eramala arrived from Bahrain on June 19th.  He went home in a taxi and was quarantined.  On June 27, he was taken to Vadakara District Hospital in an ambulance  following signs and symptoms and was tested. After being positive, he was transferred to FLTC for treatment.
2. A lorry driver (50) from Olawanna arrived from Bangalore on June 24.  He went home in his own vehicle and was under observation.  He was rushed to Beach hospital on June 26 for treatment following the symptoms and was tested positive. He has been shifted to FLTC for treatment.
3. The 26-year-old Farooq native arrived by flight from Kuwait to Kochi on the night of June 13.  On June 14, in a government vehicle, he was taken to the Corona Care Center for treatment.  As part of a special screening for foreigners on June 26, he was tested positive and was shifted to FLTC for treatment.
4. A Kolathara native, 32, arrived by flight from Kuwait on 14th June. He was being monitored at the Government Corona Care Center.  As part of a special screening for foreigners on June 26, he was tested positive and was shifted to FLTC for treatment.
5. A 26-year-old native of Karassery reached Kochi on June 13.  On June 14, was taken to the Coronation Care Center in a government vehicle for treatment.  As part of a special screening for foreigners on June 26, he was tested positive and was shifted to FLTC for treatment.
6. A 23-year-old Malapparambu native arrived by flight from Kuwait to Kochi on the night of June 14.  On June 15, he was taken to the Corona Care Center in a government vehicle.  As part of a special screening for foreigners on June 26, he was tested positive and was shifted to FLTC for treatment.
7. A Perumanna native, 43, came from Dubai on June 15 . In a government vehicle, he was taken to the Corona Care Center for.  As part of a special screening for foreigners on June 26, he was tested positive and was shifted to FLTC for treatment.
8. A 28-year-old resident of Koyilandi reached Kochi on June 15.  On June 16, in a government vehicle, he was taken to the Corona Care Center for treatment.  As part of a special screening for foreigners on June 26, he was tested positive and was shifted to FLTC for treatment.
9. A 43-year-old man from Thuraiyur reached Kozhikode from Bahrain at night on the 15th. He was taken to the Corona Care Center in a government vehicle and was under observation.  As part of a special screening for foreigners on June 26, he was tested positive and was shifted to FLTC for treatment.
 All the nine people have a stable health condition.
 People who recovered:
 The residents of Azhiyur(38, 36), Thuneri (30), Arakkinar Corporation (41), Maniyoor (45), Chelannoor (30), Mudadi (25), and Eramala (24).
1379 more people under observation.
 Today there are 19,072 people in the district, including 1,379 newcomers under observation.  The district has so far completed 46,626 observations.  Today, 184 people, including 44 newcomers, are under observation in hospitals.  Of these, 139 are in Medical College and 45 are in Lakshadweep Guest House, Kozhikode.  28 were discharged.
Today 176 samples have been sent for testing.  Out of a total of 12,537 samples, 12,060 results have been obtained.  Of these, 11,772 are negative. 477 results are pending.
At present, 90 people from Kozhikode are being treated for Covid positive.  Of these, 40 are undergoing treatment at Kozhikode Medical College, 45 in First Line Treatment Center, Kozhikode Lakshadweep Guest House, 3 in Kannur, one in Manjeri Medical College and one in Kalamasseri.  One Wayanad resident are being treated in FLTC, also two Wayanad residents, one from Malappuram and one from Tamil Nadu are undergoing treatment at Kozhikode Medical College.
 
   A total of 11,471 immigrants, including 985, arrived in the district today.  Of these, 534 are under observation at the district administration’s Covid Care Center, 10,879 in homes and 58 in hospitals.  Of those who are at home, 149 are pregnant women.  So far, 5,620 immigrants have completed observation.
        
Health workers in the district visited various centers and led the Covid prevention activities such as screening, awareness and hygiene testing.  Twenty people were given counseling today through the Mental Health Helpline to reduce mental conflict.  338 people were served by phone to reduce mental tension.  Today, 2,675 volunteers visited 9,498 homes in the district to raise awareness.
