The Calicut University has launched e-content webcasting on Thursday.Vice Chancellor Dr.M.Abdul Salam inaugurated the program .The program ,being implemented, jointly by the Distance Education and the Educational Multi-Media Research (EMMRC) wing will provide better learning environment for the students-said Dr.M.Abdul Salam.It is first time a university in Kerala introduced webcasting.
He said that Information and Communication Technology has emerged as a reformative force in learning process in both regular and distance education sector.
He added that the main objective of this webcast was to ensure advanced technology to all students who come from diverse environment.
Expert lecturers will handle half hour long class through this webcasting.
Pro Vice Chancellor K. Raveendra Nath presided over the function.

In the first phase,English,Management and Mathematics webcasts will be available online.
