Dr. P. Mohan appointed as new Pro Vice Chancellor of Calicut University

Dr. P. Mohan, Professor of Department of Commerce and management Studies at the University of Calicut has been appointed as the new Pro Vice Chancellor of the University of Calicut. Governor Justice P. Sathasivam, who is also the Chancellor of the University issued orders to this effect on Friday. He will hold office for a term of four years with effect from the date of assumption of office.Dr. Mohan who holds a doctorate in Commerce has more than 26 years of teaching and research experience. With glittering academic qualifications of M.Com, MBA, M.Phil, PGDM, DISM, PhD., FDP (IIM-A) in addition to Ph. D, Prof. Mohan is a well known management consultant with specializations in   Marketing, Information Systems, Strategic Management.


A reputed teacher and  scholar to the core, Dr. Mohan has produced seven nationally and internationally aclaimed books on various subjects on management, IT and business studies. He has also [presented and published several research papers in various national and international journals and at conferences, which include the famous  Consumer Attitude Towards Online Buying in India”, International Conference in Business Management and Information Science, ICBMIS 2008, Naresuan University, Thailand, November 2008 and  “Public-Private Participation in E-governance in Kerala – A Case Study”: Electronic Journal of the Centre for E-Governance, IIM Ahmedabad. 

 

He has also held various important offices and assignments in the University of Calicut in addition to his duties and responsibilities as Professor at the Department of Commerce and Management studies of the University. The various offices held by him in the University included the posts of    Director, Directorate of Self Financing Courses, Coordinator, School of Management Studies, Director, College Development Council and as Member, Advisory Committee, UGC-ASC , Kannur University from 2014 till date, to mention a few. 

 

A native of Malapparamba in Kozhikode, Dr. Mohan is an executive  committee Member, Calicut Management Association (Affiliated to AIMA) and also president, Residents Association, Malaparamba, Calicut.
