The Election Commission (EC) will strictly monitor the election expenditure of candidates.The allotted amount per candidate is Rupees 28 lakh.
Those who exceeds the limit will have to face severe legal actions including ineligible.
The EC has directed to expenditure commission to report the detailed accounts regularly.
The expenditure until the counting of votes will be accounted.
Each candidate’s publicity matters will be shot on video.
Rallies organised by candidates,poster publicity,banners,public meetings and new media advertisements also will be counted.
Travel expense of star campaigners like prime minister and top national leaders will not be added in the candidate’s account.
However,when candidates share the podium with star campaigners,the expenditure of that public meeting also will be added in candidate’s accounts-said a government press release.
