Eight coronvirus cases reported in Kozhikode

  
 District medical officer Dr Jayashree V informed that eight more cases of COVID 19 positive have been reported in the district today.
1. A 40-year-old resident of Kakadara came from Saudi Arabia by air on July 1.  His rapid test was positive, and thus his sample was taken.  He was transferred to Kannur Medical College.  The test result came positive and now he is under treatment.
 2. A 54-year-old resident of Puduppaadi arrived at Kannur airport by air on July 1. He was shifted to Kannur Medical College.  He was tested positive and is under treatment there.
3. A native of Payyanakkal (35) reached Kannur from Kuwait on June 20. He reached Kozhikode in a government vehicle. He was under observation at home.  On June 29, he was taken to the beach hospital for testing, following he symptoms. He Continued surveillance at home, until his results came positive and then he was transferred to FLTC for treatment.
4. A 45-year-old resident of Narikuni, came from Kuwait, reached Kochi on June 18.  He took a taxi to his home in Koyilandy and was under observation. On June 30, he went to Kozhikode beach hospital for a symptom check and his sample was tested. The results were positive and then he was transferred to FLTC for treatment.
5. A 42-year-old native Azhiyur arrived at Kozhikode airport on June 30.  His sample was taken for testing after the Rapid test became positive. He was taken to the Corona Care Center for observation in a government vehicle.  The test results were positive and then he was transferred to FLTC for treatment.
6. Eramala native, 43, arrived at Kozhikode airport on June 30. His sample was taken for testing after the Rapid test became positive. He was taken to the Corona Care Center for observation in a government vehicle.  The test results were positive and he was transferred to FLTC for treatment.
 7. A 53-year-old from Balussery arrived at Kozhikode airport on June 30.  The sample was taken for testing after the Rapid test became positive. He was taken to the Corona Care Center for observation in a government vehicle.  The test results came to be positive and then hewas transferred to FLTC for treatment.
8. A 55-year-old man from Eramala reached Kozhikode by air on June 30 from Qatar.  The sample was taken for testing after the Rapid test became positive. He was taken to the Corona Care Center for observation in a government vehicle. The test results were positive and he was transferred to FLTC for treatment.
Today 400 samples were sent for testing.  Out of a total of 14,692 samples sent for inspection, 13,056 results were obtained.  Of these, 12713 are negative. 1,636 samples’ results are yet to be received
Currently 101 people from Kozhikode are being treated with Covid positive.  Of these, 35 are undergoing treatment at Kozhikode Medical College, 58 in First Line Treatment Center, Lakshadweep Guest House in Kozhikode, seven in Kannur and one in Ernakulam.  In addition, two residents of Wayanad, one from Tamil Nadu, two from Kannur, one from Malappuram, one from Palakkad, one from Thrissur, two from Ernakulam, one from Kasargod, are being treated at FLTC, and one kollam native, one Ernakulam native, one Malappuram native, are being treated at Kozhikode Medical College.
988 people more under observation
Today there are 17,572 people in the district, including 988 newcomers under observation. The district has so far completed 52,701 observations.  Today, 254 people, including 59 newcomers, are under observation in hospitals.  Of these, 158 are in Medical College while 87 are in Lakshadweep Guest House, Kozhikode.  41 were discharged today.
 A total of 11,948 immigrants are in the district, including 587 who arrived today.  Of these, 436 are under observation at the district-administered Covid care centers, 11,459 in homes and 53 in hospitals.  Of those who are being observed at home, 133 are pregnant women. So far, 7,983 immigrants have completed their observation.
        Health workers in the district visited various centers and led the Covid prevention activities such as screening, awareness and hygiene testing.  The Mental Health Helpline has given counseling to 23 people today to reduce mental conflict.  323 people were served by phone to reduce mental tension.
Today, 8,943 volunteers visited 7,657 homes in the district to raise awareness.
