Minister for Social Welfare and Panchayaths Dr.M.K.Muneer has said ‘Ente Koodu’, scheme for homeless destitutes will be implemented at all districts.
The pilot project began at Puthiyara is being run by both government agencies and non-governmental organisations.
Palliative Care Volunteers will take care of people staying at streets and bring them to the centre.
He was speaking at a function held in connection with Ente Koodu at Kasaba police station.
District Collector N.Prasanth presided over the function.
He said that a beautiful idea was mooted in a simple manner.
KURDFC chairman Moideen Koya, councillor Sakaria Hussain, Vanitha Vikasana Corporation chairperson Kulsu teacher, KSSM executive director Dr.Ashraf, Institute of Palliative Medicine technical advisor Dr.Suresh Kumar, Kudumbasree district co-ordinator T.P.Muhammad Basheer, district social justice officer Saramma spoke on the occasion.
Ente Koodu is functioning at an old village office building at Puthiyara.
The building was handed over by the revenue department to the social welfare department.
The building has been modified ,spending Rs 27 lakh and infrastructure has been arranged
