Football protest for C.K.Vineeth
They didn’t play for many goals;but for a single ‘goal’. Kozhikode witnessed a variety protest on Saturday,by sports journalists and football fans ,demanding justice for C.K.Vineeth,India’s international player,who was recently terminated from his job at AG’s office,Thiruvananthapuram for low attendance.
The ‘protest play’ was held in front of the Accounts General office in Kozhikode. Sports journalist and Calicut Press Club president Kamal Varadoor inaugurated the ‘protest kick.’
Kozhikode sports journalists and Nainan Valappu Football Fans Association,jointly organized the demonstration.
The collective decided to register an official complaint to the central government to take back Vineeth to his post.
Mathrubhumy sports reporter K.Viswanath presided.Malayala Manorama sports reporter Rajeev Menon,Madhusoodanan Kartha,Mangalam sports reporter K.Jayesh,Asiante sports reporter K.R.Rajesh,Nainanvalappu Fottball Fans Association president Subair Nainanavalappu,secretary Noushad,Mujeeb Rahman,Calicut Chamber former president P.Gangadharan were among the speakers.
Vineeth, who plays for Kerala Blasters in the Indian Super League, was the joint Indian top-scorer in I-League 2016-2017 and Indian top-scorer in ISL 2016.
