Freedom of expression in a democratic society must be unconditional,opined the open forum on fifth day of the ongoing Regional International Film Festival at Kairali Sree Theaters in Kozhikode.
Film critic CS Venkateswaran led the discussion forum.
“Conditions imposed on idea sharing and expression would help the government only.Free expression is not just for art.It is a fundamental right of every citizens in our country.”
“The government considers its citizens as children, having no discrimination power.That’s why the government decides which movie should watch and which shouldn’t.”
“Digital Technology has helped,avoiding geographical boundaries.In such a context,film censorship is an uncivilized activity.”-he said.
Film critic Koya Muhammed,Manoj Kana,Dr.Renuka were among the speakers.
