The Gandhian Peace and Nonviolence Studies Center has been started at St. Teresa’s College,Ernakulam. The center was set up in collaboration with the Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti in New Delhi under the auspices of the English Department of the College and the Center for Research. The center is part of a series of special plans to celebrate the college’s centenary in 2025. College officials said the center aims to be a forum for students, teachers and the general public to come together to discuss the values of non-violence and peace.
Laxmidas, Chairman, Khadi and Village Industries Commission, inaugurated the center at an online function. Dipankar Shri Gyan, Director, Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti was the special guest at the function which was presided over by Sister Vinitha, Manager, St. Teresa’s College. Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti Program Officer Dr. Vedabhyas Kundu delivered the keynote address.
