Kerala Government Contractors Association (KGCA) will take out a protest march to Raj Bhavan and submit a massive petition to the governor.
Opposition leader V.S.Achuthanandan will inaugurate the march on March 3.
The agitation,is to press their demand for releasing their bill amounts .
Since December the due amount has touched Rs.2,500 crore, says the association officer bearers in a press meet.
Contractors are in a state of bankruptcy and their job prospects are also in a halt as the result of the government policy-said KGCA president Vargheese Kannmpally .
Public Works Department minister’s statement regarding the release of Rs.894 crore was misguiding. It was a bank loan.
It was human rights violation that the contractors owed to pay interest against bank loan for government’s due.
The government is showing disparity towards PWD and Water Resources ministry and it is the violation of constitutional rule-said the leaders.
