Kerala State Disaster Management (KSDM) has issued an alert warning against high intensity heat waves in Kozhikode district.
According to the agency, heat waves will be in high intensity on 18 and 19,March.
There will be 4.5 Celsius or more increase in Daily Maximum Temperature than usual.It will lead to sun stroke and sun burns,announced Central Metereological department.
People are advised to keep away from direct sun light exposure.It is better to avoid sun light exposure in day times, especially between 11 am and 3 pm, said the media release.

- Drink more water
- Avoid sunligh exposure during day time
- Wear cap or use umbrella while going out
- Wear loose.light-coloured cotton dress.
- Air flow must be ensured in classrooms where children attend their examinations.
Aged people,children are in high risk groups
Farmers,workers,traffic police personnel,online food suppliers,bike riders are urged to be taken precautions.
If there is any illness or sun burn due to sunligh exposure,people are advised to undergo first aid and medical treatment-said District Collector V.Samab Siva Rao.
