High-voltage volley;Kerala and Railways enter final

Calicut witnessed a high voltage volley match with a power packed  audience in  the semi-final matches held at  Calicut Trade Center Indoor Stadium, Swapnanagari,today. Bullet-like smashes and sharp blocks and block-outs created a suspense-filled neck and neck match during the play between Kerala men and Tamil Nadu. 

Volley fans from different places thronged to the stadium to experience a high-class match of men’s semi final.

Kerala began its aggressive attacks even in the opening set.However,three careless serves and few errors put the team in tight pressure in certain moments when Tamil Nadu men revived their energy and confidence.

On the other side,Tamil Nadu never wasted a single moment to recoup its team.That’s why score board showed equal points at many occasions.

Band,trumpets and music accompanied each and every moment of the winning of Kerala.Fans from rural belts of Malabar raised their voice for their home team.They showed banners in favor of Kerala players.

Roaring fans gave no chance to home team to be tired a bit.They need more than a stunning victory.Series of electrifying smashes hit defensing players. Court turned a field for unstoppable tricks and subtle and smart attacks and counter attacks.

When Kerala was leading with four points (4-0),Tamil Nadu team was unaware of a sudden re-set .Meanwhile,a serve from Kerala side lost on the net and Tamil Nadu won its first score (4-1). The fans of Kerala gave a warning signal to its team,on the spot.

TN men moved further by winning 2,3,4 and stopped Kerala’s rush at a second loss in serve (9-9).

In the first match Kerala conquered Tamil Nadu men (25-22).

Second match witnessed lightning and thunderstorms.The round reached up to a tie-point and continued until Kerala

defeated Tamil Nadu for two points (30-28).

Finally Kerala gave a full stop to Tamil Nadu’s  to make final attempt to give a shock to team  Kerala. Kerala men won the third match by winning 25 against Tamil Nadu’s 22.(25-22)

Volley fans were more than happy to have a classic match as they dreamed for long time.

Women’s fight;Railways crush Maharashtra

In the women’s semi final, Railways team crushed Maharashtra and ensured their final berth(25-8,25-14,25-18)

Purnima, Mini Mol Abraham , and Nirmal teamed up to defeat Maharashtra by securing an impressive edge through out the game.

Maharashtra could not raise any challenge in all three matches.

In the final matches , Kerala  will take on Railways in both men and women matches.The  first match will begin at 3 pm tomorrow.
