Covid-19 pandemic never pulls him back in his endeavor since he is that much passionate in solo bike riding.Meet James Immanuel Raj,who is in Kerala on his solo ride,ahead of his world trotting.
It has been a dream come true for James Emmanuel Raj, a youngster living in Hyderabad, when he set out on a solo bike ride on his Bajaj NS 200 from Hyderabad to Kanyakumari on September 20.
James, a music teacher from Hyderabad, has always had a passion for a long distance travel solo on his bike. He undertook journeys across the various cities in his home state over the last years as a prelude to his long travel.
James, a member of Couch-surfing, a global community of travellers, reached Calicut yesterday evening on his bike after a two days journey. The local couch-surfers rendered him all help during his overnight stay in Calicut.
The CNM reporter met him at Calicut University campus today on his upward journey to Kanyakuamari.
Talking to CNM, he said he had a very smooth journey since its beginning despite the threat of COVID-19 pandemic. He had undergone Covid test before he started his journey and found it negative.
At the entry point to Kerala at Wayanad, he was stopped by the health and police officials. Finding the covid report and checking his health condition, the officials allowed him to enter into Kerala, said James.
On asking about his experiences during his ride, he said he faced no problem anywhere. The rains in Kerala have not affected his trip.The people are very friendly and offered him all assistance.
Added to this, he says, “Kerala is a beautiful place with lush greenery, gorgeous and exotic beaches, breathtaking hill stations, enchanting waterfalls and amazing natural scenario.”
He said he was really happy to meet Pradeep Hudino, famous magician from Feroke,Calicut.
Hudino, who expressed his desire to meet James through the whatsapp group of Couch-surfers of Calicut, came all the way to Feroke to catch up with James, as he had already left Calicut and reached University campus. Knowing this, James returned from University campus to Feroke to join Hudino there.
As a classic example of the traditional hospitality of Kozhikode people at its best, Hudino had also brought a specially prepared food packet for James.
James said he would vlog his experiences and documentaries during his bike trotting. He is active in social media and updates his ride on a daily basis. He intends to undertake a global bike ride soon.
He then met members of the Couch-surf in Calicut. So far, James has covered 3000 km.
