IIM-K convocation

Dr.K.Radhakrishnan,former chairman of ISRO,urged students to use the potential of India as an emerging power in the world.

He was addressing IIM-Kozhikode graduates during the convocation meet held on April 1 at the campus.

He emphasized on the opportunities India offers as one of the most dynamic and emerging economies of the world, and urged the graduating students to use this as a launch pad for making India the next biggest technology-based manufacturer in the world, by developing novel methods to achieve this task. The Chief Guest also highlighted the importance of keeping an open mind and learning from all, while dealing with the inherent differences.

Dr. A.C. Muthiah, Chairman, Board of Governors, IIMK in his welcome address to students talked about the importance of character building and perseverance. The Chairman also talked about the unique SDP program at IIMK and said that “Making the Social Development Project (SDP) a mandatory course for PGP helps to bridge the community-institution gaps and creates socially responsible managers, and more importantly stands testimony to IIMK’s commitment to be a socially relevant institution”

The event marked the successful completion of the academic program, and saw 524 students getting their degrees. The sense of accomplishment was written all over the faces of the 346 students of the PGP class of 2017 (among them 95 were females), who got awarded the Post Graduate Diploma in Management, the 172 students of the class of EPGP 2017 (among them 12 were females) – 83 from EPGP Kochi and 89 from EPGP Kozhikode, who completed the Executive Post Graduate Program in Management and the 6 students of the doctoral program who were awarded the title of Fellow Program in Management (Doctoral Degree).

IIMK Gold medals for scholastic performance were awarded to Ms. Aishwarya Ram, Mr. Anish Kumar Aggarwal and Mr. Himanshu Dhingra of the PGP batch. The Gold Medal for all round performance was awarded to Mr. Govind Haridas of PGP. The Gold Medal for the Executive Scholastic Performance were awarded to Mr. Chintan Gundaliya and Mr. S. Ranganathan.

Present on the occasion were IIMK fraternity, invited guests, parents, relatives, family and friends of students.
