Social reputation is the product of intellectual capital and the social capital the Organizations hold”. “I hope this small initiative will enthuse and inspire the young minds by the infinite knowledge that is embedded in those thousands of books being received by them and ignite a spark  that will help knowledge transcend generations, so that the fruits of this shall come back as new and renewed energy to strengthen our society”, he added.

As a symbolic gesture of book donation, Prof. Debashis Chatterjee handed over one copy each of the book entitled “Let’s Learn” to all the beneficiary colleges, an edited work of Prof. Chatterjee and three  other IIMK faculty members.

Earlier, Dr. M.G. Sreekumar, Chief Librarian and Information Officer, IIMK, welcomed the dignitaries, representatives from the beneficiary colleges and their students. Further, in his address to a packed auditorium Prof. C. Speaking on behalf of the beneficiary colleges, Prof. Biju Mathew, Malabar Christian College and Prof. Siraj of Sir Syed College, Thalipparamba expressed their gratitude to Director and Staff of IIMK for this noble gesture. Acknowledging that knowledge is true power, they invoked the participating students to pledge themselves to the message by Prof. Chatterjee of sharing the knowledge gained through books and passing them on to their peers as a true torchbearer.

The Vote of Thanks for the function was proposed by Lt. Col (Retd.)
