NSS volunteers build a park at Karayad East ALP School

Karayad East ALP students roll back to rock up after their holidays thanks to NSS volunteers of  KPMSM Higher Secondary School,Arikkulam

Karayad East ALP School students got a well-equipped park and modified riding ground thanks to the voluntary service of National Service Scheme.

As students rolled back after their Christmas vacation,they have got Christmas-New Year gift from a team of higher secondary students belong to  Arikulam KPMSM Higher Secondary School.

The work is part of  ‘Akshara Samridhi’ 2019 ,a  beautification cum infrastructure development program to equip primary schools, come under General Education Department.student-friendly.

The students rejoiced to have such facilities like outdoor swing, and merigo round ,A concrete word-tree,made by the volunteers  is a major attraction of the park.

The dream park of these primary children became a reality as the result of  the seven day residential camp of 50 NSS Volunteers.

The cost of the park,Rs. 3 lakh  is met with the support of some private sponsors.

The volunteers involved in all the construction works,under the guidance of some experts.

The volunteers carried  building materials and tools by themselves as there is no road access to the school.

They have also built a slab on a water-channel in-front of the school to make students  footpath,safe.

139 NSS units in Kozhikode district have undertaken various developmental projects in selected primary schools.

The district level valedictory function of the NSS camp also was held at Karayad East A LP School.

NSS Regional coordinator Manoj Kanichukulangara inaugurated the students’ park.

Arikkulam Grama Panchayath Welfare Standing Committee Chairman O.K.Babu presided over the function.District Coordinator S.Sreechith,Cluster coordinator P Sreejith,principal P.Suhara,PTA presidents JM Prembhasin,K.Abhineesh,Program Officer K.Shaji,Shivani,Jia Elena Jo, Laik Hasan spoke on the occasion.
