Kozhikode District Panchayath will install solar panels in 25 government high schools.
Energy conservation and revenue generation for schools by selling power are the aims of this project.
The project got approval from the district panchayath meeting held on Wednesday.
President Babu Parasseri presided over the function.
The project is being implemented with the support of KSEB.
KSEB will install panels on the roofs of the selected schools.
Surplus energy will be given to KSEB grid.
The schools will get a revenue from the KSEB.
The company will assure maintenance of the panel for ten years,as per the contract.
