Kozhikode set ready to celebrate Independence day
All preparations have been made to celebrate independence day on Saturday. Minister Dr.M.K.Muneer will hoist the national flag at 8.30 am at the Vikram Maidan in Kozhikode.
There will be hygiene pledge on the occasion as part of the freedom from garbage campaign launched by the state government.
The armed police, reserve police, women’s police team, NCC, Army, NCC senior girls, Navy, Junior NCC, NCC girls platoons will join in the parade. Red Cross and Students Police Cadets also will participate in the march past.
St.Michael’s Girls School children will render national integration song during the celebrations.
Various cultural programs will add colour to the independence day celebrations.
Ahead of the celebrations, a full dress rehearsal was done at the Vikram Maidan.
Children, seniors citizen, women will get special convenience to watch the independence day march.
