Alok Jha,the EVP and CHRO of Datamatics Global Services Limited touched the sensitive aspect of a lack of connection between industry and colleges. He emphasised on revolutionizing the current academic scenario by introducing psychometric assessments, career counseling at early stages, increased internship exposure and integration of industry, academia and government for the greater good.He was addressing HR Summit at IIM Kozhikode on Saturday.
Rajeev Singh, the COO and Business head of Karvy FinTech said “When we talk about management, the strategies at the national level can not be ignored. Also, people and data need to be expensively studied to analyze the skill gap”
Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Director, IIM Kozhikode talked about his vision of 2045 of how IIM Kozhikode is overhauling the curriculum, building a project and classroom based immersive learning, looking at applied knowledge and focusing on the functional skills to cover the differences between academia and the industry.
The event ended on the note of inspiring the students to look earnestly for a career and not a job.
Prof. Manoranjan Dhal began the event by highlighting the concern of the employers that many of the B-school pass outs are not industry ready and hence the theme.
