The Kandal Museum (Mangroves Museum), the second largest in Asia and the first in India, located on the banks of Anelapuzha in Koyilandy Municipalityhas been dedicated to the state.
K.Dasan MLA handed over the museum to the state. The earlier constructed building was renovated in the 2019-20 plan at a cost of `10 lakh. Municipal Corporation Chairman Adv K Sathyan presided over the function.
There are various types of sightings here, such as elephant sightings, spotted sightings and star sightings. The photo museum displays descriptions of various species found in Kerala. The image will be accompanied by their local and scientific names and descriptions.
Documentaries on various worldviews will also be screened. The corporation intends to provide study facilities for research students and facilities for tourists to enjoy, including backwater tourism.
