M.K. Muneer to lead IUML in assembly

Former minister, Dr.M.K.Muneer has been elected as Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) parliamentary party leader.The decision was taken at Muslim League parliamentary party meeting held at Panakkad in Malappuram, today.

Muneer is selected  to the post, subsequent to  the win of P.K.Kunhalikkutty to parliament from Malappuram constituency.

Muslim League president Panakkad Hyderali Shihab Thangal declared the party decision.

Talking to  media persons , later in Kozhikode ,Muneer said Kerala assembly will witness strong protests in coming days.
Regarding Munnar encroachment issue,he said, the UDF is against any kind of encroachments.
It is the front’s  declared policy  to take strict action against  land encroachments.
However,he said the Munnar issue could have been handled in more sensible manner.
He added that he would follow the steps of his predecessor, P.K.Kunhalikkutty and continue the front’s stirs,launched ,so far.
A reception was given to Muneer at Kozhikode League House,where he arrived by noon after taking the new position.
IUML district leaders and party workers gave a warm reception to Muneer,who is representing Kozhikode South constituency in Kerala Assembly.
