Major fire breaks out on the seized vehicles near Kuttippuram Police Station- Many Vehicles burnt down

A fire  broke out om Thursday evening on the array of large number of vehicles seized for various offences by the Police and kept near the Kuttippuram police station beside NH 17, several vehicles were completely burned down. Though fire units from nearby fire stations rushed to the spot, the fire could not be still doused off. Hectic efforts are still on to put out the fire from spreading to nearby places.

The place where the seized vehicles are dumped by the Police always give a lot of troubles for the local people. The area, which has grown like a forest with the creeps and piled up vehicles has become a haven for anti social elements and poisonous snakes. Local people complain that the Police keep on dumping the vehicles making it a mountain, causing constant agonies to their lives. Most of the vehicles who do not have owners on record are confiscated for offences like sand mining and other criminal activities.


With the number of seized vehicles increasing manifold every day, there is no effective mechanism to auction off such vehicles
