Protesters in Kozhikode who questioned the police action , in which two Maoists were killed at Nilambur forest
have been detained by the police.
A. Vasu,a former nexalite and human rights activist and Mundoor Ravunni were among the protesters.
Police sources said there were 29 protesters.
They were protesting in front of Kozhikode Medical College Hospital,where the bodies of two Moists were kept for post-mortem.
Later,the protesters were taken to Nadakkavu Police station and released .
Two Maoists; Koppam Devarajan, a central committee member of CPI (Maoist) and Ajitha a.k.a Kaveri were killed in an ‘encounter.’
The action was carried out by Thunderbolt, a special anti-nexalite squad of Kerala Police.
The police had earlier stated they were killed in a encounter with the force.
However,the state of their bodies in the forest which going viral on social media raises many question of a genuine encounter,said human rights activist A.Vasu.
The post- mortem is being in progress at Kozhikode Medical College hospital.
