About the Film

Stand up (2019) is a Malayalam film directed by Vidhu Vincent (Manhole fame) and procuded by Anto Joseph and B. Unnikrishnan. It is a Rajisha Vijayan, Nimisha Sajayan, Arjun Ashokan and Venki starrer film.
About the Visuals
Mathivaraathe is the romantic song from the film. It is picturised like a dream get away for Diya
(Rajisha) and Amal (Venki). They ride a bike through the foothills of Ponmudi and they spend a
night of their lifetime in a tent amidst the silence of the forest.
Music
The song is sung by Rithu Vysakh and Ann Amie. Rithu is a violinist turned singer. He had played
violins in Kumbalangi Nights, Saaho and many other blockbusters. Ann Amie is the playback
singing sensation of the time with countless hits under her title.

The music is composed by Varkey. Varkey has composed music for more than 100 jingles and
arranged music for countless hits in Malayalam film. He has composed the music for the IFFK
official selection Sleeplessly Yours (2018) starring Sudevan Nair. The challenging part of
composing the song was integrating this soft and melodious music into a film with deals with a
social subject. Varkey was so particular that the song functions as a get away yet not disturbing
the narrative of the feature film.
The song opens with a beautiful and ethereal humming backed by a mellow ukulele (a small four-stringed guitar of Hawaiian origin.).

That musical moment places us amongst the foothills. The song can transcend the listeners to a
state of calmness. The guitars and the subtle groove lets the listeners sway to it unknowingly.
It was well received by the listeners and crossed half a million view right now, which makes us
really happy and gratified at the same time.
Varkey says” I had enjoyed working for the entire film’s score and the four songs out of which two
of them have already come out.”

Playback singer Sayanora also renders songs for the movie.

He adds,”Every listener will love the musical representation of Stand up film (2019). The film
is set for release in Decemeber.”
