National Women’s Conclave has demanded media organisations to provide six months of Maternity leave. According to the law six months is the time period of a maternity leave but some Media organisations only allow three months of paid leave. The conclave requires the time to be exceeded to six months and the government to take initiative to get this done. They also demanded protection for the “Me Too” campaigners in the meeting. The National Women’s Conclave was organised as a part of Kerala Media Academy’s Historical Media Journey. A second NationalWomen’s conclave would be held in July to form Women Friendly National Media Rights.
The popular media worker Vasanthi Hari Prakash inaugurated the program. Geetha Aruvamuthan delivered the keynote address.
Open forum was also conducted as a part of the program. Media workers K.A. Beena, Dr. Vinod Bhattathiripaadu, writer Echmukutty presented the topic. M.S. Sreekala was the moderator.
