Media people protest in Kozhikode

Journalists from different media outlets took out a protest march under the banner of Kerala Union of Working Journalists (KUWJ) in Kozhikode city, today in protest against the gruesome attack of drug mafia on Manorama reporter,Dileep.
A protest gathering was organized at the press club premise .
Noted historian Dr.M.G.S Narayanan inaugurated the gathering.
IUML national secretary P.K.Kunhalikkutty M.P ,Writer Kalpetta Narayanan ,KEN Kunhahammad,Ad.P.S.Sreedharan Pillai,T.V.Balan,K.G.Pankajakshan,Rinesh,T.Sidhique, KUWJ state president PA Abdul Gafoor, secretary C.Narayanan,Haridasan Palayil, K.Premnath were among the speakers.
KUWJ district president Kamal Varadoor presided over the function.Secretary N.Rajesh welcomed the gathering and Vipul Nath expressed vote of thanks.

This protest meet shows that democracy has not yet perished,completely.”_said Dr.M.G.S Narayanan.He was inaugurating the program, today.The public must join in the agitation _ he urged.
The police have been always under the captive of the ruling governments’ regardless of political affiliation.”_ said Kalpetta Narayanan in his speech.
He added that the government at the center is not promoting inclusiveness in governance.It is trying to divide people .”
There is a sort of fear everywhere, said left thinker KEN Kunhammad.

Dileep was fatally beaten by some miscreants who were said to be involved in a drug trafficking case in which a college student, dead.The scribe  has not yet recovered from the murder attempt by drug traffickers.
However, the police inquiring the incident took the matter light and culprits had an easy escape since silly offences were charged.
KUWJ leaders and public figures demanded the government interference in the incident to book the miscreants , immediately.  
The union also alleged a nexus between a group of police officers and drug mafia in the city.
