 Mini truck hits three vehicles in a row on Kozhikode bypass road

In a freak accident on the NH  66 bypass road near Pantheerankavu  on the Vengalam to Ramanattukara stretch occured in the morning today, a mini truck that was carrying household goods hit three vehicles in a row, which resulted in traffic congestion for over an hour on the busy road.
According to eyewitnesses, the mini truck which was proceeding to Kozhikode from Ramanattukara side was overtaking other vehicles on the same path on the highway when it hit the rear side of a lorry that was coming from the opposite direction.

The mini lorry which lost its control had also hit a car and an autorickshaw one after the other.

In the freak accident, the auto rickshaw plunged into a ditch on the road side, which mangled its body badly.  The car, which was proceeding to Tirur from Calicut too was damaged to a good extent.


The vehicles that were involved in the accident caused traffic congestion and chaos on the busy highway for nearly one hour.
The auto driver was injured in the accident. He was taken to the nearby hospital by the local people who witnessed the accident.

The Police team  from City traffic and Pantheerankavu Police station rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.

According to the Policemen on duty at the spot, the vehicles will be taken to the traffic station and investigation into the accident is now on with the on the spot assessment of the accident site and vehicles
