With the withdrawal of center’s fund ,the state is facing severe fund-crunch in the modernization of police force-said Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala.
“The center has stopped Rs.60 crore’s aid . I had a meeting with Union Home Minister and Home Secretary on this regard and demanded to re-instate the fund. MP’s from the state will raise the issue in the parliament.” -Chennithala said.
He was inaugurating newly-built Kasaba police station,community police resource centers, and police dormitory in a function held at Kozhikode City Police Commissioner’s office premise on Thursday.
Shubhayathra project, introduced to control road accidents will be implemented soon.
Traffic awareness program, strict punishment for traffic violators, deploying of police during school opening and leaving time at school premises, are part of this scheme.
Mayor Prof.A.K.Premajam presided over the function.North zone ADGP N.Shankar Reddy, Kannur range DIG Dinendra Kashyap, CityPolice Commissisoner P.A.Valsan, were among the speaker.
