Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Monday said that he will approach the Election Commission against veteran Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader V S Achuthanandan for making false corruption charges against him and his cabinet colleagues.
Talking at a meet the press programme organised by Calicut Press Club ahead of Assembly poll in the state, the C.M said he would approach the Election Commission against Achuthanandan, if he failed to tender an apology for leveling false corruption charges against him and other ministers of Congress-led United Democratic Front government.
”I will give two days to Mr Achuthanandan for an unconditional apology failing which legal measures, including approaching of Election Commission, would be pursued,” he said.
The CM had yesterday threatened to sue Mr Achuthanandan if he has not stopped spreading lies.
In a statement recently, Mr Achuthanandan, also Opposition leader in the state assembly, had alleged that there were 136 corruption charges against the UDF Ministers and out of this 31 were against Oommen Chandy.
