Jnanpith laureate MT Vasudevan Nair received young children who came to his house as part of collecting books for their library,with sweets and books.
It was organized by the Sarva Shiskha Abhiyan.
The program,’Koottukoodan Pusthakachangathy’ (befriending with book freind) was meant to help school children with special needs who are unable to attend schools.
To overcome their loneliness SSA introduced the scheme to make libraries at their homes.
Arya Rajeev ,K.Sreya from Nadakkavu Girls HSS,Farseen from Kottummal GLP School,Nikhil Biju from Samoothiry HS, Prarpanch from Gov.TTI School visited MT ,yesterday.
MT interacted with children and told them books are the best friends when they are alone.
“I overcame my childhood loneliness with the help of books”-he said.
