Will Kerala Higher Education and Minorities Affairs minister K.T.Jaleel resign or not? This is a hot discussion among the political circles. It is the second big nepotism issue that puts the Left Democratic Government in Kerala, under Pinarayi Vijayan in high pressure.
Muslim Youth League, the youth wing of the Indian Union Muslim League had raised the issue ni a press meet.Youth League general secretary P.K.Firoz alleged that K.T.Jaleel’s cousin Adeeb KT was appointed as General Manger of Kerala Minorities Development Finance Corporation, violating the codes of appointment.
Adeeb was working as manager of a private bank at the time of appointment.
The minister refuted the charges by the Youth League, first. However, his face book post was a kind of admission that the relative was appointed.
In his FB post,Jaleel tried to justify the appointment,by highlighting the qualifications and experience of the newly appointed General Manager.
Later, the Muslim League and other opposition parties took up the issue and demanded the resignation of the minister.
Earlier,Minister for Industries E.P.Jayarajan had to resign from the ministry, followed by a nepotism charge.
