New variant virus reported in Kerala;two cases in Kozhikode

New variant corona virus cases have been reported in Kerala.Among the cases,two are from Kozhikode.
Kerala Health Minister KK Shailaja told media in an emergency press meet that public must be alert to control the spread of newly detected corona virus.
The mutant Covid strain,first reported in London has been detected in six people who have returned from the UK .
Two cases have been reported in Alappuzha,two in Kozhikode,one each cases in Kottayam and Kannur.
Alappuzha and Kozhikode cases are reported among family members.
The minister said the health department is monitoring the cases,strictly and contacts of these patients have been traced and they are in quarantine.
The health minister urged public to follow strict Covid-19 protocols to stop the spread of new variant which is said to be more dangerous in transmission.At the same time there is no need to panic over the new variant.
