Our development culture is destructive -Sugatha Kumari
Development culture that can’t ensure safe air,water and food will destroy the Nature-said poet and social activist Sugatha Kumari.
This truth should be speak loudly-she urged .
‘Hear the cry of earth’ ,the message released by John Paul Marpapa is hopeful-she opined.
She was inaugurating a two day seminar on ‘A sustainable development vision for Kerala’,organized by Thunchath Ezhuthachan Malayalam University at Thiruvananthapuram IMG hall.
M.K.Prasad presided over the function.
“The existing development model is destructive and unsustainable.
If things are going like this,there will be no soil,no hills and no rivers.
Agriculture should be maintained even by providing money to farmers.For that,farmers should possess the soil.
New generation should come forward to protect soil.Voice should be raised against the practice of saying no to farming”-she said.
Malayalam University Vice Chancellor K.Jaya Kumar in his welcome speech said that Kerala’s knowledge should go to the world and the world knowledge should come to Kerala.And,thus our language should be enriched.
Prof. Madhusoodhanan made introductory speech.Prof.T.P.Kunhikkannan expressed vote of thanks.
