When Nadapuram constituency came to discussion on Saturday during Janasabha,a face to face interaction with major candidates at the Calicut Press Club,questions were also raised on political violence and recent bomb blast at Teruvanparambu.
BJP candidate M.P.Rajan accused both the left and right fronts for playing adjustment politics.
Congress candidate Ad. Praveen Kumar said Communist Party of India (Marxist) was behind political violence in Nadapuram.
He said recent bomb blast took place at a party village.
Five CPIM workers were injured in the blast which happened while making steel bomb,according to the Nadapuram police.
Sitting M.L.A and L.D.F candidate said only five percent of people in the constituency involved in such criminal activities and others are peace-loving people.
BJP candidate pointed out that a coconut-based industry is the need of Nadapuram since the region is a hub of coconut farmers.
Praveen Kumar said the constituency had not showed any sign of development in various sectors.Drinking water scarcity is a severe issue in this region.
E.K.Vijayan responded that as an opposition M.L.A he could do whatever possible things for the constituency.
However,he admitted that it was very difficult to reach all nook and corner of the constituency since it was a big belt with 10 grama panchayaths.
M.P.Rajan said a mafia was working to exploit natural resources.The hills in this constituency has been collapsed by quarry lobby.Soil and trees are widely lost.And,he pointed out it was the main reason for the sever drought in this area.
Praveen Kumar promised an IT park in collaboration with Pravasi community and he also said the functioning of primary health centers would make more effective.
